…on the cover of the compliation Electro House Essentials Volume 7 which opens with the Novelty Music Scene remix of Neon Blink!  It’s out tomorrow for e’rybody to embrace like a crying orphan.  If that’s not enough, then on the 29th March, Sunset 2 Sunrise Volume 09 sees the Hail! Perestroika rewire of Neon Blink on track 6.  It’s like summer but with more shoes.  In other news, I had an awesome salad for lunch (made by me, naturally), however now it is almost six o’clock and my stomach is all like “I KILL YOU! I KILL YOU IN THE FACE!“.  I was listening to some Das Racist and had to turn it off because it was exacerbating my hunger.  Tragedy.

Friday night was fun.  It was a shame that Fake Teak couldn’t play due to a lack of things for their drummer to hit, Peter Falconer’s impromptu set was highly entertaining, Hot Beds made us dance like we had two legs and then we played to a bear humping a speaker.

The forthcoming Novelty Music Scene remix of Neon Blink is so good that on first listen, I bit down on my teeth so hard I chipped a tooth.  It’s a small chip, but it’s amazing how weird it feels whilst your mouth aclimbatises to your new bite.  Hopefully you’ll enjoy it without this mouth based metamorphosis, but I’m gonna totally admit, it was worth it.  Honestly, keep your eyes open for that shizzle any day now, you’ll thank me.

So, if you want cheap entry on the gig next Saturday get in touch.  If you bag that shit early, you can LITERALLY get half price entry.  I’m gonna admit, I find that exciting.  If you don’t, then you evidently don’t have hernia inducing money problems and you can buy me drinks all night that night AND EVERY NI@GHT==; YOU CRUNT.  I’m looking at you, champagne boy.  Yes.

Other than that, Neon Blink is going to figure on another mountain biking video somewhere, I don’t quite get the association, but I ain’t arguing like innit like like.  That’s so vague I might as well have not even written it, but to be honest, these emails aren’t exactly concise or informative, so why change that?  I enjoy the hatemail YOU PRCK, YOU KNOW WHERE I LIVE, CM SAY HAAI!

Do you like music which is the aces?  I like music which is the aces.  Pimp Daddies of NoHo like music which is the aces.  I have yet to find a person who doesn’t like music which is the aces.  Some people get the wrong idea about what the aces is, probably due to a genetic disorder, but I don’t think anyone can deny that the Pimp Daddies of Noho Old Skool House remix of Neon Blink is anything but the UNIVERSAL ACES.  Like the opposite of Bono.

In other impromptu band news, Jim says he’s going to buy a plaid shirt (but he says a lot of things), Luke has a bad foot and Steve (he is me) has a double whammy of conjunctivitis and a cough (which he’s had for a month, a whole month, the cough that is.  This is terrible.  We’ve got two new tracks completely recorded just waiting for my vocal parts, yet still we wait for me to be able to sing and not sound like Tom Waits.  Not that sounding like Tom Waits is a bad thing (hell no!), but I fly the higher pitched flag, the other two do the grufallo voices.  I can supply my address to anyone who wants to send me sympathy Haribo (a Welsh tradition).

I’m thinking this is one of those posts where I should have stopped typing a long time ago, yet, here I am, still going.  In my defence, the cream I am applying to my manky eye makes me feel like a bukkake actress, which leaves me feeling cheaper than usual.  Actually, that doesn’t explain anything.  Apologies.  And stop.

That’s right everyone, today is national faux-pas day 2011!  Bypass those awkward situations by pre-empting them and embracing them like a long lost sister you didn’t realise was related to you.

1. THE ELECTION

Some of the more hirsute of you may have noticed that there’s an election imminent (yo).  That’s right.  It’s almost time to vote for your favourite member of Neon Highwire so we can change the name of the band to “<Victorious Person X> And The Neon Highwires”.  Early polls suggest that it’s going to be a runaway victory with the good looking one way ahead, but with the immoral, underhand tactics of the other two, it’s still all to play for!  This vote (with musical accompaniment) will take place at Vibe Bar on the evening of Thursday 6th May.  That’s a week tomorrow!  ZOMG!  You should come, it’s gonna be great.  Oh and it’s the day of the general election too.

1. THE REMIXES

As we’ve mentioned, Neon Blink is being released as a single through Blue Dove Records.  There’s gonna be a heap of brilliant remixes on the b-sides which will be making their way for sneak peaks at our Neon Rewire Myspace page (starting with Fresh:Mesh‘s beast of a remix).  Details on release dates, formats, track listing and the launch party in THE FUTURE.

1. NEW MATERIAL

Still working on it, be patient.  Those who’ve been lucky enough to hear it so far have said “…it’s better than I thought it’d be, I thought it’d be really bad.  Can I please phone my family now to let them know I’m safe?” shortly before they went missing, never to be heard of again in an entirely unrelated incident.
