God Is In The TV Review Luminscence

Posted on 13:14, March 29th, 2010 by Steven Morgan

Bill Cummings, editor of God Is In The TV has written a review of Luminescence which you can read here.

“Overall though The Luminescence EP is a schizophrenic melting pot of influences bourne of the brains of three imaginative people, reach inside this aural lucky bag and you’ll find some delightful moments, and some that don’t quite hit the mark, but they are played with a passion, commitment and humour that could teach many more established electro acts how to actually enjoy making music!”

DJ set from Luke at The Artesian Well in Clapham Friday night

Posted on 17:30, March 20th, 2010 by Steven Morgan

Thanks to everyone who came down to Brighton last night, was a great night with great music and we have collectedly decided Brighton is awesome (despite me reversing into another car, oops).

Also, Luke’ll be playing a DJ set at The Artesian Well in Clapham Friday night which’ll be full of electro smash.  Go.

Playing at The Hope in Brighton tonight

If you’re at a loose end and in Brighton this evening, come see us at The Hope with The Kleptones.  It’s only a small venue though and with the mighty Kleptones headlining, almost guaranteed to be at capacity so get there early to avoid disappointment!  Entry £3 on the door.

Catch me if you can

A big thanks to all of you that came along to the gig at Catch last night – it was great fun! So much fun that Steve thought he’d start throwing large wooden cubes around, in fact. Luckily only superficial damage ensued (as well as some long lasting emotional scars) and we are HYPER PUMPED for our show at The Hope in Brighton tomorrow. Bring on the weekend!

Change of venue for tomorrow night’s gig!

Wooooooooord.

Sorry to email you so soon after the last one, but this is more important than Norway.

There’s been a change to our London show tomorrow night.  It’s no longer at 93 Feet East, but at Catch22 Kingsland Road, Shoreditch, London, E2 8DA instead.

Double Rainbow pulled out for no apparent reason then Artefacts For Space Travel pulled out for personal reasons, then the promoter pulled out for financial reasons.  If you bought a ticket, you can contact wegottickets to get a full refund.  Big apologies for this, but I assure you it was totally out of our control.  Thanks to the cooler than cool guys at !Forwardslashmusic! though, we’re now on the bill for their new night at Shoreditch venue Catch instead (only up the road from 93 Feet East) with Reachback and The Amberblacks.  We’ll be on stage just before 22:00, but will be milling about the whole evening so come say HELLO.

Spread the woooooooooooord.

Wooooooooooooord.

Steve.

Out Of The 100, Yours Was Definitely The Best

Skip This Bit If You Have No Soul

Man, my song titles are so awesome.  It’s like I just think of this shizzle all the time, like I’m made of magic haribo or something.  The way I see it, we should write our album around the following list of song names.  I’ve done the hard work coming up with this list, the other two can do all the recording and I’ll sit at the side and criticise.  ”YOU’RE DOING IT WRONG JIM!  DO IT AGAIN BUT WITH MORE GOOD.”

1. Sidechaining Your Sox Groans To My Station Exx

2. I Don’t Think You Should Have Done That, Reginald (Part II)

3. I Don’t Think You Should Have Done That, Reginald (Part IV)

4. ^ Scat

5. I Didn’t Want Your Stupid Chair Anyway

6. Aerosmith On The Bus

7. I Only Like People Who Laugh At My Jokes

8. Whatever, I’ve Read Books

9. Yeah Politics Man Yeah F**k The Government Man And Stuff (Chair’s Lament)

10. Turned Out It Wasn’t Aerosmith

11. Conversations I Thought I Had But Turned Out To Have Dreamt That They Happened

12. Aerosmith On The Bus (Reprise)

If you’ve got ideas for the title of this future Mercury Music Prize winning affair, click here and add it as a comment.  I’ll send the writer of the best one a copy of our EP.

Leave your house and have a good time

We’re playing 93 Feet East a week Wednesday, as you know.  You don’t need me to tell you it’s gonna be awesome, and we’re playing new material too, so you’ll be all like “Wow, I think this is new material” and you will be right.  A week Friday we’re then heading to Brighton to play at The Hope, so tell everyone you know who lives near Brighton and isn’t a total pillock.  Other than that, we’re confirming a festival appearance in April, a launch party for the Luminescence EP despite the fact that it’s out already and gig + swimming pool in May.

Luminescence Reviewed In Rock Sound Magazine

Posted on 15:31, March 6th, 2010 by Steven Morgan

This months edition of Rock Sound magazine has a review of Luminescence, which as it’s in a physical magazine, I’ll type out for you like your own personal secretary.  I won’t do that though, put it away.

7/10

“Two years on the scene, London gents Neon Highwire have been cutting their angular-chops in all the right places, and it shows.  The startling ‘Isometric View’ harkens to Hadouken!, all shrieking outrage and dirty basslines, while ‘Under Moonlight’ has a touch of Ian Curtis’ clench-toothed vocals over skittering synths.  Already playlisted by the BBC and with plans for a UK tour this year, it looks like the future’s not only bright for this trio, it’s neon.”

Shreds

Posted on 11:58, March 6th, 2010 by Steven Morgan

No matter how many times I watch them, I always crack up at the shreds videos on Youtube.  Check out this awesome Kings Of Leon performance, Steve Vai doing his thing or Metallica at their best.
