Some nice words from RebelRiffs in their review of Luminscence which you can read here. As Steve (Gilmore, not me) says “With a great cross between electronica and chippy rock, Neon Highwire are a fine example of the health of English music. The problem lies in the health of the English music business whose blindness to the potential of bands like this will be remembered and noted, come the f****** revolution.“
Kickass music blog Subba Cultcha (yes, a Pixies reference) said some nice things about our Luminescence EP which you can read here.
“Sounding at various times like Hot Chip and Hadouken! In equal measure, this is certainly one of the more accomplished efforts of the month – bouncy, engaging and interesting. Yummers” to be precise.
We’ve got a single release of Neon Blink coming soon. We’re looking for artists to remix the track for the b-sides. If anyone’s interested in getting involved, send us an email! Reimagine, reinvent, deconstruct, dismantle till there’s nothing left but a gentle pulse we forgot was even in the original mix, do whatever you want. Just make it awesome.
I know asking you people for this sort of thing is tacky as hell, and I loathe to do it, but you know I respect you people right? You know I treat you good? You remember that time we ate ice cream and walked the dog before realising neither of us owned a dog? Yeah you do.
Anyway, winner of this plays The Camden Crawl. I went once, didn’t enjoy it. Maybe I’d like it more if I was the other side of the stage. So…

Cheers to those who attended our show in Kilburn last Friday. Was a great night helped by the fact that I didn’t have to drive the Neon (Street)Car, thanks to the generosity of the wonderful Raven Beats Crow meaning I was free to ensure lucidity on stage.
We’re playing in Kilburn tomorrow night with the ultra powered Raven Beats Crow and the captain turbo’d… Us! From 20:00 till 02:00. Also, we’re playing at The Hope in Brighton on March 19th. Our first time outside of London (as a band, not just that sheltered), it’ll be big.
Many people have emailed me lately and said
“Steve, I really want to own a horse, but don’t have the space for it in my London based tower block flat. Can horses fly?”
The answer is no, horses cannot fly.
THIS FRIDAY!
Moving on, we’ve got a STONKER (meow) of a gig coming up Friday at the triple A battery Powers bar in Kilburn run by the super fantastic lake of ice cream No Fiction. It’s free entry, has AWESOME DJs, two incredible bands known for great music and live shows (HEY, ONE OF THOSE IS US! WODYAKNOW!), and loads of drink offers a n d t h e l i k e c==3
Luminescence
Buy it from Amazon, iTunes, Indiestore, Amie Street and a bunch of others like Napster and Myspace Music and Rhapsody too. Buy multiple copies then come see us live and buy some more. I’ll sign anything that moves. Make new friends, buy them the CDs. Things you can use the CD for:
Playing music.
Yeah, you thought that was gonna be one of my awesome lists, but it wasn’t. Deal.
Video
I bought a video camera, yeah, big deal. We’re gonna start filming stuff. Music videos are lame, we have much better ideas than that, what we need now are crowns. Anyway, we’ve got a Youtube channel at this place which also has a link to us playing our extended edit of Akira! at 93 Feet East.
Other Stuff
There’s a load of other new stuff in the pipeline, but figure rather than just blabbering on about it, we’ll get it all confirmed and fit for consumption first. So be patient and keep checking www.neonhighwire.com.
Few gigs coming up, but can’t reveal details on all yet till they’re confirmed. Probably playing in Brighton on March 19th though, which will be nice.

Team Neon is off to hit the dancefloors of Elephant and Castle tonight and we’re bloody excited! It may not be Miami, but there’s going to be more tunes than a doctor’s waiting room during a man flu outbreak! Coronet here we come! Keep an eye out for us getting down to Justice, Boys Noize, Bloody Beetroots…
